Dr. Ann's News
December 2009
As a devoted mother, nutrition expert, and champion of "family wellness," this is one of the most gratifying testimonials I have ever received.
Dear Dr. Ann,
I was fortunate enough to attend your recent seminar at Heathwood School and got soooo much out of it! Especially, a "re-birth" of meal time at my house. Until that day, I had a very bad attitude about cooking dinner, as it was just one more thing to add to my day. Dinner was like this: Jack, my 7 year old, would eat something in his bedroom in front of the TV, by himself, I would usually eat something while I was cooking for my husband, and we would usually eat separately at the kitchen bar.
One of the messages from your seminar totally transformed my attitude towards cooking for my family. You said someone has to be the cook and might as well enjoy it! I decided I would love cooking great ingredients and have a family dinner each night. So, that's actually what happened! The other thing is that, on the rare occasion when we did all eat together, much of the conversation revolved around threatening Jack to eat something or he would have something taken away.
Since the very day of your seminar, it has been a mircale at our house. I'm enjoying preparing good food (slowly encorporating more healthly food) and we are all eating at the kitchen table, talking, actually enjoying the experience. By putting a few choices on the lazy susan in the middle of the table, Jack is enjoying choosing and eating samples of the different foods and he is eating more. The conversation is now positive instead of negative and everyone gets something they like. It's a little more work, but it's so rewarding and so worth it because the dinner experience now is so positive.
I just can't thank you enough! It's been a few weeks now since your seminar and I know we will keep this up.
Thank you again,
Sincerely,
Michele
